Things to Remember....and some funny Patrick sayings!

Patrick and I went on a "date" to the Library this week...just the two of us! It was a very fun time. He is growing up so quickly. He makes us laugh and laugh. We love him so!Here's some funny stuff he's said over the last few months, as well as some stuff I want to remember about him....
-------------------------------------------------------
"Mommy, Sprite makes me BURP!"

"My water went ker-splat in my eye and I wiped it away!"

"I hope Jesus will help Rachel to have another baby." (said when baby Daniel was about a week old)

Me to Patrick: "You have such pretty eyes. Do you know who made them?" Patrick: God and Noah."

"This is a stir thing to stir this" (talking about his spoon and his cereal)

P asked if we had anymore jellybeans. I told him no, we ate them all. He said "We have to get some more from the jelly bean man!" I asked who was the jelly bean man and he said "Mimi and Poppie!"

We were talking about the things God gave us....eyes, nose, cheeks....hair. Then we talked a little about how some people have no hair. Patrick looked out the window and soon began a prayer...."God, help Poppie to get some hair. Amen"

"I don't know if I can eat that fat fish..." "It might make me fat."

He calls wilbur from Charlotte's Web "the famous pig"

Avocado look like grass, because it green!

I was crying. Patrick looked at me and said with a thoughtful face: "Maybe you like to take a nap?!"

When he hears or sees a 3 he says "That how much I are!"

Looked at his friend David's paper in Sunday School and said "Daddy start with D" also wrote a P on his paper in S.S

One week his teacher said how God takes care of (and named each child) Patrick kept looking behind him and pointing at me and Nicolas. Finally he said "And Nicolas, too!" The teacher heard him and said "Yes! He takes care of Nicolas too, and your Mommy!"

S.S. Teacher showed the class her old special lamb she slept with. She asked each child if they had something. P has a bear who he sleeps with, but said "I don't sleep with it, I just play with it in the mooorning"

Doesn't like the toilet to flush. Says "I runned away 'cause I flushed it. So I runned away to the KITCHEN"

singing about psalm one, all of a sudden he sings ..."but he says blah about his food..."

Mr. Elephant is Mr. Teddy Bear's BROther. and he like him to pinch him"

a toy was broken he said "I think I throw it away. It brokes ALL A TIME. so I better throw it away!"

"God says to the mailman "can you give Mama and Patrick some mail" and the mailman says "ok!" "

"I get TWO (holding up two fingers) sads. One for the ouchie from the cart (Heel got run over) and one from the flushing potty" (automatic flusher scared him and Nicolas to tears!)

Me to P: You were so tired last night. P to me: Yes, so I close-ed my eyes because I think I could because I was so very tired"

loves his stuff to be put in "a LITTLE bag" goes up to checkers at stores and asks "can you please put this in a little bag?" sometimes before they are even done checking out the other person. Too cute.

He rubbed my back just out of the blue. (6/30/09) I said that feels good. He was worried about my back hurting. He said "it is the first time I rubbed your back!" He is in to saying "it is the first time....." about stuff. He came in most excited the other day saying "I touched the rain for the FIRST TIME!" He was also thinking of reasons why God let it rain, after I told him a few. He was sad about it raining because he "wants to see out his window better!" but he liked thinking of happy reasons why God let it rain (like cooling off the house etc. etc.)

Picked up a bug in a tissue to throw away. Said "I did it for the FIRST time" "Mommy, can you write that down?" "He were a dead bug"

I asked him what he was thinking about. he said "about your --niversary." So we talked about it and he grinned and grinned when I said how we missed him and Nicolas and prayed for them. I told him what we did and how we got him a funny pen and came home and were happy to see him. he said "I like my pen very much. Thank You!"

Sometimes when we sad other people give us kisses. to make us happy.

I thinkin'. "What'cha thinking about?" About Mimi day. I want it to be....1,2,3,4,5" (ie, he wishes everyday were a Mimi day!)

out of the blue "Daddy, I like it when you home and you play with me!"

Five Wonderful Years (or the tale of our anniversary)

Our day started out with a "Happy Anniversary" wish to each other, and then two sweet little boys joining us in our bed :) After that James let me sleep in, then we started getting things ready for the day. We had to stop around 10:00 (our wedding hour) to get our traditional picture together :)My mom and James' sister arrived around 10:30 and we left around 11:00. Our first stop was IHOP for a yummy brunch! We got a picture afterwards. and what's an anniversary without some kissing pictures?! After that we put in a call to check on the wee one (who was still sleeping) so we went on over to the park! We took some more pictures :) and I gave James his gift.James wanted this one where he was laying on the fence! What a silly guy. I was keeping him from falling, I think :) Walking about under the pretty arbor! We climbed the trees for a picture! Then we went home so I could feed Nicolas. We also changed into some swimming clothes, so we could enjoy the little water spot at the park. We were a little shy to do this, 'cause it's actually for kids, so we walked around a bit first. We walked and talked by the water, then got brave enough to get a little wet. It felt SO good on that hot July day! After that we walked around the park and laid in the grass some, looking up at the beautiful blue sky. It was really a gorgeous day! After that we stopped at Braum's for a treat! Then we headed back home to feed Nicolas and get cleaned up.Patrick and I also decorated our car :)
Then we check in to our hotel. I had never been there before and it was amazing! So fancy! It had a HUGE window in the lobby. Our room was very nice, and it was so QUIET! James said this picture reminded him of a spot we saw on our honeymoon in Oregon. The bed was beautiful. I love all the pillows arranged just perfectly! We got a room with a view of the lake! It was so fun! After awhile it was time to go give Nicolas his last feeding, so we headed off....It was fun recalling at different times what we were doing 5 years earlier! Around this time 5 years ago we were heading out from our B&B to go to Target and Wendy's. Yes, we really did go out to Target on our Wedding evening. We laugh about that!
Back at home I fed Nicolas and we each put a boy to bed. Then we talked to my parents a bit and left around 9:00. We came back to the Hilton and walked about looking for a place to eat! We decided on this place:There was live piano music and it was SO lovely! I am SO glad we came here. The food was perfect and so exotic (to me anyways!) My salmon came beautifully displayed on a plate, covered in sauce with two tiny potatoes, a small portion of green beans and carrot mousse. I'd never heard of that, but I actually liked it. I even liked the exotic salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing and goat's cheese. I'm really not an "exotic" eater, so James and I were both amazed :)There weren't many people eating here at that hour, so it was a lovely quiet little spot for us! So much nicer than many of the "loud" places we'd thought about going! Oh, and James ate quail and loved it as well! After dinner we walked about by the fountains and lake, finally sitting in a little spot by in the grass. We even saw a few fireworks! By this time we were quite tired, but it was so fun to be out and about so "late" (late for us to be out anyways, since we have kids, hee hee!)We returned to our room close to midnight! It felt very festive, and had been a wonderful 5th anniversary. James decided before we went to bed that we would order breakfast to our room! What fun....
Our view while we ate....We've had breakfast in our room for the last 6 July 4th's! This was our first year to be in a hotel though. We usually go to "our" bed and breakfast, but we enjoyed the Hilton this year, and were blessed to be so close to home and Nicolas ;) (We left him some pumped milk for his night feedings)After check out at 11:00 (actually we checked out a bit late!) we sat in a big comfy love-seat type chair together, doing our laptops a little! It was fun :)We found out that there was still some milk left over from the night for Nicolas, so we decided to extend our outings for the day! We walked about and got some (MORE!) ice cream at Marble Slab. They even put little flags in it, which was fun! We ate it outside by the fountains, which was also fun, even if the heat made it melt really quickly all over our hands :) Then we left, making a quick stop at LOVES gas station to pick up something for Patrick and the babysitters :) Then we were re-united with our cute little 4th of July boys. It was a lovely anniversary, and we are so grateful to God for giving us to each other. We are also so grateful to my parents and James' sister for watching our precious little guys!

July 3rd and 4th, 2009

I'm sitting in the Hilton hotel right now next to my dear husband! We have been having a wonderful 5th anniversary, which I hope to blog about in the near future! We spent most of yesterday together going back and forth from fun adventures around town to home to feed Nicolas! It was so fun! After the boys were in bed we headed to Bella Harbor where the Hilton is and walked around looking for dinner. We ate at the most delicious place ever....walked around some more in the moonlight and then came up to our room close to midnight! It's been a very special anniversary.

I gave James a scrapbook with pictures from the past 5 years and reasons why I'm glad I married him. He gave me a beautiful poem he wrote me (below)
Happy Anniversary to my sweet husband! We've been married five years!

Sparkle In Your Eye
by James Gallagher

I picked you 'cause of the sparkle in your eye,
You picked me...well I don't know why.
I saw so much more than a cute, sweet blond,
I saw golden hair, golden heart and a golden bond.
I wanted to write you poems and touch your hair,
You wanted me to kiss you and think you were fair.
We held hands and longed for a happy ever after,
Glances turned to stares and flirting stirred laughter.

You took a chance with me and vowed I do,
I wanted nothing more than to have and hold you.
We lived on love and love again,
You said, "Life is better than it's ever been."
Then came sweet babies, and scrapbooks by the stacks,
Good times and hard times -- like when I got the axe.
Yet you stand by me with that beating heart of gold,
Makes me think there will be nothing bad about growing old.

Five years of bliss is what we want to say,
But we know it's growing together every day
That makes us close and makes us hunger
Yearning for each other like when we were younger.
Knowing all about who we love and why,
And never losing that sparkle in our eye.

Five years ago tonight, I attended the rehearsal of my wedding. I sat on my parent's couch sewing artificial flowers on my veil, talking to my fiancee.
Tomorrow is July 3rd. Tomorrow is the 5th anniversary of our Wedding Day. I cannot believe it!
Five years ago tomorrow, I woke up for the last time in my white bed and pink girly quilt. I think I said a quick prayer, and walked out into the still dark living room...through the dinning room and into the kitchen where my mother was already stirring about. It was a strange morning. I was so scared and nervous.
I took a shower and dressed. Things kicked into gear quickly. My fiancee...the man who was about to become my husband arrived and popped his darling little head into the house. I can still recall his face. He had a sparkle in his eyes and a hop in his steps. He looked so happy and excited...and this made me feel that way, too. Even then I felt a sense of calmness and peace when he was near.
Together we rode in his red Geo through the sleepy little streets of Greenville. It was a foggy, cloudy morning.....not the type you'd dream about for your wedding day...but come what may, it WAS our wedding day. OUR WEDDING DAY! Yikes. It was too much to take in. I felt sick one moment and hopeful and excited the next.
We arrived at the church and parted ways. The next time we would meet would be when I walked down the aisle to join my life with his.
It was a special morning of preparing with dear friends. In a seemingly short time the hour had come. I could hear the strings playing sweetly through the wall. Guests were filling the pews....the moment was here! I was getting married! and then it came. My James picked up his violin and played. and played. and played. Finally the doors opened and I walked toward him (James partially jokes that he wondered if I was really going to come down that aisle since he played for what seemed like so long!)
We vowed to each other that day. This day, five years ago. I have changed so much since then. He has changed. We have changed. We have two sweet little people that have come from us as part of our family now. And two precious babies in Heaven, waiting for us.
There have been tears. There has been much laughter. There has been love. Love...such wonderful love. I am so grateful for the gift of James and his love for me.
I am so glad he asked me to marry him. That God brought us together, through such a stormy path. That He took us and made beauty out of our ashes. He is good. He is faithful. I praise Him, and I love my husband so very, very much.
Happy 5 years to my James. The James of Garland Bible, where I first met you 17 years ago. The James of our first years of being in Love. The James of plaid hats and bagpipes and violin....so many, many precious memories. I love you, James!

Busy Days, Happy July, Our 5th Wedding Anniversary and Crying over Candy ;)

So, life is SO full these days! I'm having trouble finding time to blog! Yesterday was the SECOND Tuesday since my "days at our house" started.....maybe I'll take the time to write about it today...

So excited it's July! 5 years ago today I was setting up for our wedding and reception! Wow! And 5 years ago tomorrow we were having our rehearsal dinner and our last day before we were married--which leads us to 5 years ago July 3rd! Yippee! Our 5th wedding anniversary is Friday! We are going to spend the day together without kids, (dropping in every 3 hours to feed Nicolas) or with just one kid (the wee one) Then we have reservations that night for the Hilton Head Hotel on the lake in Rockwall! I'm SO excited!

Well, I started writing out Tuesday, but little P got up. His first thought almost was about the candy the neighbor gave him last evening. When I told him he couldn't have it, he cried. I thought first he was crying about Nicolas pulling his hair...hmmm...maybe it was both! SO anyways....maybe I'll finish writing about Tuesday later...maybe I'll wait again till NEXT Tuesday!

Hope everyone has a great July 1st!
