15 years

This month marks the 15th anniversary of the Beemans and Gallagher's re-meeting (our parents met way back in like 1984, but lost contact with each other) - and eventually James and I meeting! but I don't remember the date that I actually talked with/ met James for the first time.

So, we have known each other (or at least our families have known each other!) for 15 years (plus the "lost" years between '84-'92! :) )

We started courting in 2001

We got engaged Feb. 14th, 2004

And this past July we celebrated 3 years of marriage!!!

In all that time, we've been through a lot together. It's amazing how much! It's almost like we've lived two or three different lives together already!

The early years - back at Garland Bible Church (the place where we met)

Me liking James -

My mom's hospital experience

The very young and in love days...

The Dell Drive days - courting going on forever - it seemed like the day for marriage would never arrive! Yet it has - over three years ago!

Then there was our first year of marriage - just the two of us (and little Patrick on the way part of that year!) My life began a whole new transformation and adjustment. It was if I was an adult for one of the first times in my life!

Memories of our first pregnancy together. Is there anything like it?! All so exciting and scary and life-changing! Going to birthing classes together, riding around in the miserable little truck with no A/C!

Together we experienced the birth of our son. Oh so wonderful, but so difficult, too. Our plans changed, then were changed again when we found out Patrick would have to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks.

James was right there beside me when Patrick entered this world. He was the one who announced whether we had a girl or boy. He was there with me when the Doctors told us about Patrick's strep. He was right there with me during those nearly 2 weeks.

James was the steady one as we adjusted to Parenthood. He has almost always, if not always always :) been the steady one!! Calm, Cool and Collected.

He and I watched our baby grow up together. Together we experienced all the joys of our son's first year. Together we watched him take his first steps.

James and I sat together in the hospital as our precious son threw up, cried and continued to turn more and more red....

He was the one who took time away from work and went with me to the allergy doctors. He has always been there for me as I try new foods on Patrick - always ready to listen with sympathy and care as I rant about how frustrating it all is.

We experienced together the loss of our second child.

We faced a whole new life together last year.

A Job Change. A Move. A New Church.

Thanksgiving day was the one year anniversary of finding out that our little baby had died. That evening I thought about how hard the past year has been. So many difficult things occurred. So many changes - and all bunched up together.

Today is the 1 year anniversary of losing our precious baby. For one whole year he has been gone from our lives.

At breakfast this morning I read Psalm 27. I was thinking some about today's anniversary, and the psalm seemed to fit our life this past year, and the new one coming up in about a month.

The Lord has truly been our light and our salvation throughout all these times. From the day we met, and all that has gone on since then until now.

He will continue to be our shield, because He is faithful.

I am not faithful. There are times when I do not seek a relationship with Him. But even then, He is there for me. Though I may move from Him, He never moves from me. His love is everlasting, enduring forever. Great is His faithfulness.

God has seen us through this difficult year. He has seen us through all the difficult times in these last 15 years.

God has had mercy on us this year, and these last 15 years.

We have sinned and done wrong, but He is always waiting with open arms to forgive us and cleanse us.

Maybe this year will be different. Maybe I can really "let all this stuff go" :) and get serious about my relationship with God. I must believe and seek after Him. And as Psalm 27 says, I must wait. "Wait on the Lord and be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait I say on the Lord"

We've come a long way, haven't we James? God has truly been good to us. Do you remember all the happy, silly, wonderful times we have had?! I remember so much....car rides, wonderful wednesdays, you singing or dancing or whatever it was you did with the broom to "The Marksmen"....so many precious times!

Can you believe, that if God allows, we are going to go through all that much more again? More babies, More good years, More bad years....If God allows, we will continue to go through it together. We will see God continue to be faithful. and we will have all those memories together to be able to look back on.

Thank you James, for wanting to marry me. Thank you for your love, your faithfullness - you truly are a loving and un-selfish husband. I love you! Happy 15 years!!!
